The Retail Asia Awards are prestigious. Once we were recognized, we’re honoured and humbled to receive them. Winning three awards is a milestone we are all proud of. These awards are a reflection of our journey in the past few years and the developments we’ve made in the business based on the team’s honest intentions and agile actions. These awards will aspire to the quality of thinking, in the organization, and planning. On behalf of Sharjah Coop, we must thank our customers, businesses, government partners, and again, we thank Retail Asia again once more.
Sharjah Cooperative Society Abdullah Al Huraimel, Executive Director, New Enterprises
Softlogic Supermarkets Andrew Dalby, Chief Executive Officer
I think it’s validation of three years of incredibly hard work. The concept, from the sheet of paper three years ago, to what we have now- it proves that we took the right course. We’re recognized as one of the industry leaders in innovation and I think the award for the digital campaign was probably one of the most inspiring things for us because what started as an alternative campaign because of COVID and to try to use social media influencers (Instagram, Google) was innovative and good. The Supermarket of the Year was nice, I cannot deny, I think the disruption of the digital campaign was a very, very pleasant surprise, but I think, well worthy.
Softlogic Supermarkets Andrew Dalby, Chief Executive Officer
The Coffee Club Nick Bryden, Chief Executive Officer
For me, this is validation of the team’s efforts, validation of our franchisee’s efforts, and validation of our frontline workers many of whom fronted up during the heart of COVID, they kept serving our customers, they kept delivering their personally rewarding experience, and they were the ones who are able to deliver our promise. To see that as a brand that has reached wide across Asia, to be recognised for that will instill a lot of pride in the team and give us even more energy to double-down in our growth into the future.
The Coffee Club Nick Bryden, Chief Executive Officer
The Food Purveyor Geoff King, Chief Executive Officer
It means a lot. We don’t go out in search of awards- we work hard every single day to deliver great customer experiences, but when we get recognition and for Retail Asia magazine to recognise our efforts- it’s really humbling and uplifting. It is kind of a pat on the back for all our hard work we’ve been doing for the last eighteen months and years before that to get into this moment, but it is just a pat on the back. We need to keep going every single day and delivering that quality experience to our customers, but it’s nice to get that pat on the back and that recognition, so, thank you very much
The Food Purveyor Geoff King, Chief Executive Officer
The Mall Group Voralak Tulaphorn, Chief Marketing Officer
I think it’s a reward for the team, it’s something as a recognition. For us, it’s a big recognition. The first time it was announced and sent out to us, your email, I think everyone was screaming, yelling, (happy), laughing, and they are full of joy because their hard work has been recognised. I think, it’s just not just any individual, but every single one from operations, from store design, from the construction team, to the marketing, to the merchandisers, and how we operate today also today is very different from before as well and even our suppliers, our vendors, they all say that this is the Best Mall and they feel they are so proud to be part of The Mall Lifestores.
The Mall Group Voralak Tulaphorn, Chief Marketing Officer
Watsons Personal Care Stores (Philippines), Inc. Danilo S. Chiong, General Manager
These awards tell us that we are fulfilling our mission to help our customers look good, do good, and feel great. We want to thank Retail Asia for this award and for this affirmation. We are going to be inspired to push forward with all our initiatives with all of these awards. The times ahead will remain challenging, but we know that if we listen closely to our customers, and Watsons, colleagues, partners, like Retail Asia, we will be able to respond to these needs of our customers with agility as we continue to serve them better.
Watsons Personal Care Stores (Philippines), Inc. Danilo S. Chiong, General Manager

We believe that we’ll be able to work with even more cosmetic brands and also assist them to reach a much wider audience in many of the customers in many of the countries, so, we are very delighted to receive the award.
