CapitaLand Investment emerges victorious at Retail Asia Awards 2024
Its CapitaVerse initiative offered a remarkable customer journey.
Leading global real asset manager, CapitaLand Investment triumphed in the Digital Initiative of the Year - Singapore category of the Retail Asia Awards 2024 for its experiential party Capitaverse.
CapitaVerse is a 24-hour metaverse festival that aims to merge physical and virtual realms. In its 2023 return, it has brought together like-minded partners such as National Gallery Singapore, Mastercard®, Somersby and Zouk, as well as popular brands such as Charles & Keith, FILA, M.A.C, and Urban Revivo to create specialised showcases within the virtual realm.
The event has been powered by Decentraland's blockchain-based platform, which has provided the perfect canvas for CapitaLand’s innovative approach, allowing it to integrate Web3 concepts like decentralisation and non-fungible tokens seamlessly.
The heart of the event's experiential strategy lay in crafting engaging and interactive experiences that resonated with the target audience. This includes curating new shopping and entertainment experiences through a blend of comedy, music, and interactive games. Interactive games, virtual galleries, and 3D product displays have further enhanced engagement, whilst partnerships with industry leaders and retail partners have added depth to the event's offerings.
CapitaLand has also implemented a comprehensive marketing strategy spanning social media, metaverse platforms, PR outreach, and influencer engagement to maximise visibility and attendee engagement.
The campaign has garnered 8.5 million impressions, 1.97 million video views, and 52,000 engagements. Media coverage has earned a value of SG$1.13m, with 133 coverages, including mainstream outlets. Attendance has reached 2,000 users, with dwell time tripling to over 36 minutes on average.
More importantly, it has driven a significant increase in shopper traffic by 24.1% and sales performance by 9.4% for CapitaLand malls and tenants, highlighting the commercial viability of the metaverse.
