
Watsons Hong Kong lauded at Retail Asia Awards 2025 with three accolades
The company took home the Sustainability Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong, Health & Beauty Retailer of the Year - Hong Kong, and the Marketing Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong wins.
Health and beauty retailer Watsons Hong Kong emerged triumphant at the coveted Retail Asia Awards 2025 for its remarkable performance in the past year, which revolved around its digitalisation efforts, sustainability initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
As one of the major brands in the region, the company provides comprehensive “O+O”(Offline plus Online) health and beauty services to consumers—health assessment services, makeup & styling services— through innovative digital tools like Beauty Profile, eDr, and Health Supplement Finder. These tools have been developed to offer personalised consultation services and product recommendations.
Watsons has also launched a new branding campaign titled "We Care Your Matters 您嘅事,都係屈臣氏" to strengthen its brand identity. This initiative aims to foster an emotional bond with the audience through a lighthearted and humorous approach, whilst reinforcing Watsons’ image as a caring and approachable retailer. Backed by its expert Health and Beauty team and offering the best value deals, the campaign highlights Watsons’ commitment to being a trusted companion in the everyday lives of families. Three branding videos have gained over 8 million reach on the digital platform.
Watsons’ professional team has also visited 14 different locations across Hong Kong to conduct over 126,000 health assessments with various Hong Kong residents, bringing health services closer to the community and ensuring accessibility for everyone.
Meanwhile, the company has also utilised artificial intelligence through Skinfie Lab and Health Supplement Finder to analyse customers’ skin and health conditions and recommend suitable skincare products.
These product ranges, which hinge on the impact of digital technology, have enabled Watsons to make the customer experience more convenient and optimised. Such efforts earned them the Health & Beauty Retailer of the Year - Hong Kong title in the awards programme.
Accentuating the recycling portfolio
To further its sustainability initiatives, Watsons Hong Kong has teamed up with various suppliers to promote a sustainable culture. As Hong Kong's No.1 Recycling Retailer, Watsons Hong Kong has established seven core sustainability programmes in collaboration with industry leaders. Amongst these efforts is the launch of the Personal Care Plastic Bottle Recycling Programme, which underscores the company's commitment to recycling and encourages public participation in these efforts.
At the same time, it has partnered with upcycling suppliers to further create value for recycled materials. It regularly organises ecological workshops for its employees to create a sense of appreciation for an eco-friendly culture.
Over the past 4 years, Watsons has collected over 1.7 million empty containers through different recycling programmes.
To accelerate the transformation of the retail industry towards a lower environmental impact, the company has introduced the Greener Store Global Framework. This initiative focuses on eight key areas, including Sustainable Choices and responsible materials, among others. The framework aims to inspire and engage the public in fostering a robust culture of sustainability and responsible practices.

To enhance brand perception and emotional engagement through relatable storytelling, the company also launched its "Your Health, Our Concern" campaign. It aims to increase public health consciousness and coverage, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to improve their health.
The core initiative of the campaign is to communicate the message that Watsons is more than just a retailer; it is a caring partner in the daily lives of families. The campaign centres around the notion that the company is there to support every family member. Its tagline encapsulates this vision.
Since 2024, Watsons has produced 18 health-related videos featuring pharmacists and nutritionists sharing valuable health tips and introducing key health services, including assessments and consultations. These videos have collectively reached over 2.2 million people and generated 4,293 engagements, demonstrating strong audience interest and engagement with their health content.
The campaign has been recognised as the Marketing Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong for its empowerment of individuals in taking proactive steps towards maintaining their well-being.
