Ito Yokado rolls out Next Meat's plant-based barbecue meats

This is the first time that Next Meat products will be sold alongside regular animal produce.

Japanese supermarket chain Ito Yokado has started selling Next Meats’ signature plant-based barbecue meats NEXT Kalbi and Harami in its meat section, according to a press release. These refer to short-rib and skirt steak style products, respectively.

This is the first time the Next Meats products are going to be sold in a retail store alongside regular animal produce.

Founded in June 2020, Next Meats operates in several countries. It has collaborated with Yakiniku Like, a Japanese BBQ restaurant with stores all across Japan, where the company’s plant based NEXT Kalbi and Harami is available.
