AEON to expand online offering with US-based Boxed tie-up

It will roll out a storefront platform for its virtual mall by Q2.

AEON will be expanding its offering in the online space following a tie-up with US-based online bulk product retailer Boxed Wholesale, IGD reported.

In this tie-up, AEON will use Boxed Wholesale’s technology to create a storefront platform and inventory-picking software for its virtual mall, which will be rolled out in Q2. It will support AEON’s 4,000 tenants in malls throughout the country.

With the platform, customers can pick their chosen number of items and have them shipped in a box to their doorstep. Boxed does not intend to provide last-mile delivery in Asia but will instead tap local courier services like Grab.
