Levi’s Beyond Yoga appoints new CEO

Co-Founder and CEO Michelle Wahler will depart the company.

Lifestyle apparel brand Beyond Yoga, owned by Levi Strauss & Co., has appointed Nancy Green as the new CEO after co-founder Michelle Wahler stepped down as CEO, effective 1 February.

On her new assignment, Green will continue the brand’s growth and expansion within the portfolio of Levi’s.

Green is an experienced figure in the retail sector with a track record of consistent performance and profitable growth. During her tenure at Athleta, her team introduced the Power of She platform with redefining its product line with a robust innovation pipeline, the launch of the Athleta Girl line and several pushes for product sustainability.

Through her initiatives, Athleta’s revenues rose from $250m to a close $1b, along with a growing operations margin and an expanding store network from 39 to 175 stores.

She also served as president and CEO of Old Navy from 2019 to 2022, where she led the brand’s growth from $8b to $9b and increased emphasis on activewear. She has served on boards from Marine Layer, Allbirds and the National Retail Federation.

The outgoing CEO led Beyond Yoga since its founding, responsible for its expansion into wholesale business, direct-to-consumer business, and omnichannel retailing that values to a near $100m, with double-digit growth each year. She also championed the company’s inclusivity and authenticity.
