
Shopee and Meta partner to streamline social commerce in SEA
New tools include affiliate marketing features and Collaborative Ads for Facebook Live.
Shopee has partnered with Meta to launch new tools that make it easier for users to discover and buy products on Facebook through Shopee.
The collaboration introduces a simplified affiliate marketing system and enhances Facebook Live with Collaborative Ads, allowing seamless product promotion and checkout.
Under the new Facebook Affiliate Partnerships, creators can link their Facebook and Shopee affiliate accounts, tag products in posts and Reels, and earn commissions when followers buy through those tags. Shopee is the first partner to join this program.
Affiliates also gain access to Shopee’s incentive programs, including higher commissions, free samples, and exclusive training to help them create more engaging content.
The program is available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil.
Shopee affiliates generated over 100 million pieces of video and livestream content in 2024 — triple the volume from the previous year — reflecting the company’s growing investment in the creator economy.
Shopee and Meta are also enhancing Facebook Live with Collaborative Ads, letting brands and sellers feature Shopee products directly in livestreams. Viewers can click and check out on Shopee without leaving the video.
The beta version of this feature is being tested in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, with more markets coming soon.
