Shopee, Lazada are top online shopping platforms in SEA
Convenience is the top reason for shopping online amongst Southeast Asian consumers.
Shopee and Lazada are tied as the top e-commerce platforms with 93% each in terms of user favourability in Southeast Asia, according to a report by Blackbox Research and ADNA.
In the Inflation & Shopping in the Digital Age report, Blackbox and ADNA found that Amazon is the next favoured e-commerce platform at 91%, followed by Shein and AliExpress at 85% and 73%, respectively.
As for the major benefits of online shopping in Southeast Asia, convenience is the top factor with 43%, followed by discount/sales (33%), variety of choice (25%), getting the latest trends fast (20%), getting the things not available locally (19%), rewards programme (17%), and price (11%).

Convenience is the top benefit recognized by online shoppers in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, except the Philippines with discount/sales as the most cited benefit for online shopping.
On the other hand, there are three online shopping challenges led by wrong size or wrong order delivered at 50%, followed by goods not turning up at 29%, and unreliable quality of goods at 27%.
