Watson's Personal Care Stores(Taiwan) Co., Limited wins at Retail Asia Awards 2026

The company integrated sustainability and social inclusion into its retail operations through three strategic pillars.

Watson's Personal Care Stores(Taiwan) Co., Limited won Sustainability Initiative of the Year - Taiwan in the Retail Asia Awards 2026. The company established a sustainable retail ecosystem through its Go Green, Go Smile, and Go Empower pillars. This framework integrated environmental protection, community wellbeing, and social inclusion into daily store operations and product strategies.

The Go Green pillar focused on reducing the environmental footprint of the business. Watson's Personal Care Stores(Taiwan) Co., Limited adopted renewable energy and installed energy-efficient equipment across its locations. The company also launched an Empty Bottle Recycling Program and created dedicated Go Green Areas to promote circular packaging.

These environmental efforts extended beyond the store walls through annual Beach Cleaning Event initiatives. Over 10 years, these events engaged more than 2,300 employees, suppliers, and volunteers. These teams removed 7 tons of marine debris to protect coastal ecosystems. The company also supported sustainable consumption by offering 2,000 eco-friendly products and planting 1,000 trees.

Under the Go Smile pillar, the company addressed public health challenges in Taiwan. Watson's Personal Care Stores(Taiwan) Co., Limited partnered with the Formosa Cancer Foundation for the Love Your Lungs campaign. This initiative raised awareness about lung cancer mortality amongst women. Over 11 years, the programme invested US$350,000 and supported 1,000 screenings.

The company also responded to Taiwan's ageing population by launching the first Long-Term Care Stores in the health and beauty sector. These locations served as community health hubs. Senior education programmes, such as the Golden Wellness Classroom, provided additional support across various cities and counties.

Watson's Personal Care Stores(Taiwan) Co., Limited hosted the WOW BEAUTY makeup competition with themes focused on social inclusion. Collaboration with brand partners and associations during International Pride Month further advocated for a culture of respect.
