Meta and Shopee launch Instagram affiliate partnerships
Now live across Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Brazil.
Meta and Shopee have officially launched Instagram affiliate partnerships, allowing creators to monetize their content by promoting Shopee products directly on Instagram.
Benjamin Joe, vice president of Asia Pacific at Meta, said the new integration allows eligible creators to link their Shopee Affiliate account with their Instagram professional account.
“They can even showcase multiple products in a single post — each marked with a shopping icon and "commission eligible" label,” he said in a LinkedIn post.
Once connected, creators can tag Shopee products in Reels and Feed posts, earning commissions when followers make purchases through their content.
Multiple products can be featured within a single post, each identified with a shopping icon and a "commission eligible" label.
The feature is now available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil.
The expansion builds on the success of the existing Facebook integration. Since 2025, more than 5 million creators worldwide have connected to the Shopee Affiliate Program through Facebook, with early performance indicators from the Instagram Reels rollout showing promising engagement.
For sellers and brands, the partnership provides access to highly engaged audiences through authentic creator-driven content.
Meta and Shopee are also testing a new affiliate ads solution in selected Southeast Asian markets, allowing businesses to amplify top-performing creator content as clearly labeled paid promotions.
