JD.com named Costco China's exclusive e-commerce partner
Flagship store drew 30 million visits in its first month.
JD.com has become Costco China's exclusive e-commerce platform partner, allowing consumers nationwide to purchase Costco products online with delivery available as fast as the same day.
Costco's official flagship store on JD.com, which began trial operations in late May, offers about 700 products across categories including food, snacks, personal care, beauty, household essentials, and nutritional supplements.
The online store recorded more than 30 million visits and nearly 200,000 followers during its first month.
Popular Kirkland Signature products, including pistachios, sold out multiple times, requiring repeated restocking.
Customers can place orders starting from US$13.8 (RMB 99) without a Costco membership card, expanding access to the retailer's products beyond its warehouse locations.
The partnership combines Costco's product portfolio with JD.com's nationwide logistics and supply chain network as the U.S. retailer seeks to expand its reach in China.
JD.com said the two companies will expand online product offerings, strengthen supply chain collaboration, develop exclusive products, and enhance member benefits to improve the e-commerce shopping experience.
