L’Oreal Chinampa

Promoting food security, Project Chinampa is creating a circular economy and upcycling empty beauty bottles into floating edible gardens.

L’Oréal, together with Ground Up Innovation Labs for Development (GUILD), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Southwest Community Development Council (SWCDC), and Sembwaste, launched the project to combine innovation, sustainability, and conversation for a better future. They hold workshops virtually and physically for residents interested in gardening and encourage them to upcycle more proactively. The project has been recognised at the FMCG Asia Awards 2022, taking home the Eco-friendly Initiative of the Year - Singapore award.
