Coles Group implements new data management system to boost efficiency

The system is expected to streamline product maintenance and optimise digital assets.

Australia's Coles Group has successfully implemented a master data management (MDM) solution in partnership with Stibo Systems.

The system, powered by Stibo Systems’ STEP platform, improves product maintenance, digital asset management, and customer experience across Coles Online and Coles Liquor.

"Being on this journey with Stibo Systems has allowed us to tackle a range of inefficiencies in our data management processes, helping streamline product information and drive a consistent brand experience across our channels," said  said Anthony Corboy, head of commercial technology at Coles Group.

Prior to implementing the STEP platform, Coles faced issues such as data inconsistencies, outdated manual workflows, fragmented product maintenance, limited online product details, and disjointed digital asset management, which impacted sales across channels.

Coles outlined several goals for the MDM project, including establishing standardized workflows and robust data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and efficiency, enriching product data to improve customer satisfaction and supplier collaboration, and aligning product information across Coles Online and Coles Liquor for seamless cross-channel integration.
