Shinsegae Group promotes Jeong Yong-jin as chairman

Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee will continue to serve as head of the company.

Shinsegae Group has appointed the current Vice Chairman Jeong Yong-jin as Chairman of the company.

Current chairwoman Lee Myung-hee will continue to serve as head of Shinsegae Group and the group's general chair.

As his first promotion in 18 years since becoming Vice Chairman in 2006, Jeong’s appointment is a “head-on breakthrough” in the rapidly changing environment, with Jeong as the visionary and forerunner of the Group’s new direction into the competitive market.

Prior to his appointment, Jeong served under the Management Strategy Office, reorganising of the company into a more function-oriented entity. He was also instrumental in the company’s overall management, from decision-making to execution, until his assignment as Vice Chairman.

“We have made this personnel change in order to make a quantum jump once again to become a ‘No. 1 company’ that provides the best customer satisfaction by establishing an innovative system that will achieve sustainable growth in a difficult market environment,” Shinsegae Group shared in a statement.
