MINISO enhances employee welfare and environmental initiatives in 2023
Women hold 61.8% of senior management positions in China.
Global brand MINISO prioritised improvements in employee welfare, women's support, and environmental initiatives, as highlighted in its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report.
According to the report, MINISO supports women through its Marriage and Maternity Incentive Scheme, providing extra benefits to employees upon marriage and childbirth registration, with a $1.38m (RMB10m) fund. Women hold 61.8% of senior management positions in China.
Furthering its commitment to public welfare, the brand’s RED Power initiative collaborated with other firms to donate living and educational supplies worth over $71,772 (RMB520,000) in September 2023. In November, the initiative expanded its outreach, contributing sanitary pads and winter study kits to over 1,000 students across two schools, amounting to more than ($27,605) RMB200,000.
MINISO also launched the "MINISO Pet Protection Foundation" in December 2023 in partnership with the Beijing Loving Animals Foundation. With a pledge of $1.38m (RMB10m), the foundation aims to foster a harmonious human-animal relationship through several animal welfare projects.

Additionally, MINISO continues to prioritise environmental sustainability by overhauling its product lifecycle to reduce carbon emissions. The brand has introduced the "MINISO ECO" label for products that meet stringent environmental standards, including being plastic-free, recyclable, renewable, reusable, BPA-free, and lead-free. MINISO also aims to reduce plastic bag consumption to below 75%, achieving a 52% reduction so far.
Moreover, the company received an "A" rating in MSCI ESG Ratings and an "AA" rating in Wind ESG Ratings, ranking first in the industry.
