Metro Retail expands with Metro Value Mart

It is also transitioning additional stores to this format as part of its expansion plan.

Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI) continues to expand its presence in the Philippine retail sector through the growth of its Metro Value Mart stores.

The company currently operates five Metro Value Mart locations in key areas, namely Lancaster (General Trias, Cavite), Gun-ob and Marigondon (Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu), and Poblacion and Tangke (Talisay City, Cebu). MRSGI is also transitioning additional stores to this format as part of its expansion plan.

Metro Value Mart offers a range of fresh produce, household essentials, and quality products at affordable price

“Metro Value Mart is central to our vision of making shopping more convenient and accessible for Filipino families,” said Manuel Alberto, president and chief operating officer of MRSGI.

“By locating our stores in the heart of communities, we bring everyday essentials closer to home whilst maintaining the value and quality that customers expect from the Metro brand,” he said.

The group said that each new Metro Value Mart store creates jobs and supports local suppliers, contributing to community development. Additionally, MRSGI’s expansion aims to strengthen its ties with local neighborhoods and boost the economic growth of the areas it serves.

“Through our store expansions, we aim to support our customers and the communities we serve,” added Alberto.

Metro Value Mart is one of several formats in MRSGI’s retail portfolio, which includes Metro Supermarket, Metro Department Store, Super Metro Hypermarket, and Metro Home Improvement and Lifestyle.

MRSGI currently operates 70 stores in Luzon and the Visayas, and remains committed to sustainable growth and expanding its reach.
