CJ Group's Tous les Jours opens first store in Malaysia
It now operates about 560 stores across nine countries.
CJ Foodville has opened its first Tous les Jours store in Kuala Lumpur as part of its Southeast Asia expansion, Yonhap News Agency reported.
A second outlet in the capital will open later this month.
The move follows a master franchise deal signed in January with local retailer Stream Empire Holdings, giving it rights to operate and sub-franchise the bakery brand in Malaysia.
Malaysia’s bakery market was worth $3.02b (4.4 trillion won) in 2023 and is projected to grow 5.19% annually through 2028, according to CJ Foodville.
Tous les Jours now operates about 560 stores across nine countries, including the US, Canada, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The company runs a bakery plant in Indonesia and is building another in Georgia, US, set to open by year-end.
