Central Retail expands in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor
The company will open a new shopping center – Robinson Lifestyle and Robinson Department Store Ban Chang.
Central Retail Corporation (CRC) has expanded its retail business in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) with the opening of the Robinson Lifestyle and Robinson Department Store Ban Chang.
The new shopping center was a response to the increased purchasing power and growing demand from consumers in locations within the Smart City Industrial Zone of the Eastern Region.
“When talking about the Ban Chang District in Rayong Province, in terms of economy, it is a location that is full of capabilities and high potential because it is located in the special economic development zone in the EEC,” Philippe Jean Broianigo, CEO of Property Business Development, Robinson Lifestyle under Central Retail, said.
He added this is also a prototype of Thailand’s first Smart City, which is slated to become a high-value economic zone in the Southeast Asian region.
This comes as Central Retail expects the Robinson Lifestyle and Robinson Department Store Ban Chang to create a new economic area as well as stimulate income in the local communities as it is projected to generate more than 1,000 jobs.
Central Retail’s expansion forms part of its CRC Retailligence strategic plan, which outlined the company’s strategy in the next five years.
