Silk Way Airlines offers cargo services for items with lithium battery
New opportunities for cargo transportation are open for clients of logistics network ACEX under more attractive conditions.
Logistics company Fans Trans, an ACEX member in China, recently became a sales agent of Silk Way Airlines which carries out direct flight on the route Hong Kong – Moscow (Sheremetevo) – Baku/Maastricht. The transportations are performed twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays on airplane Boeing 747 - Freighter.
“Silk Way carries out flights more rarely, however the rates for transportations are more advantageous and stable in comparison with Aeroflot,” commented Andrey Baranov, business development manager, Fans Trans. “Silk Way uses freighters what means greater useful load ratio. In addition, wide-body airplanes are more suitable for large-sized cargo or for cargo on Euro pallets.”
Besides direct flights from Hong Kong to Moscow there are alternative methods of cargo delivery on connection flights of Korean Air and Singapore Airlines which offer rates of the same level but lose in transit time, according to ACEX.
Julia Zaichikova, head of airfreight department, gives positive assessment to the new service for the clients, “The service permits to provide interesting rates for transportation. This service is mostly interesting for the cargo owners for whom the main criterion is advantageous rate but not the speed of delivery. Moreover, the airline offers delivery of cargo which contains lithium battery and in Russia most airlines impose restrictions on transportation of such cargo.”
ACEX brings together international freight forwarders in more than 200 countries all over the world.
