S'pore consumers plan to shop in holiday sales period

Nearly a quarter plan to shop via TikTok Shop, followed by other apps like Amazon and Grab.

Singaporean consumers plan to shop in the upcoming holiday sales period like 11.11, 12.12 and Chinese New Year, with 41% planning to make purchases and 52% of those considering luxury goods, according to a LoopMe report.

The survey, which polled 3,496 Singaporeans, said that four in ten shoppers intend to buy gifts during this period, whilst 21% are undecided. However, over half of respondents said promotions drive them to buy more, creating opportunity for brands to use sales-focused messaging to attract consumers.

Nearly a quarter (24%) of Singaporean consumers plan to shop via TikTok Shop, with other platforms like Amazon (12%), Grab (10%), and foodpanda (4%) also being popular choices. Apparel and footwear top the shopping list for two in ten consumers, followed by jewellery at 16%.

Simon Stone, general manager for International (EMEA & APAC) at LoopMe, emphasised the importance of integrating apps such as TikTok Shop into holiday marketing strategies, enabling brands to capture the attention of both new and existing customers with holiday discounts.
