JD Super expands blueberry supply with Camposol partnership
The blueberries are shipped via a sanitised cold chain from Peru to China.
JD Super and Peru’s fruit exporter Camposol have started the 2025 Peruvian blueberry season with the arrival of the first shipment in Shanghai on 4 July.
The direct partnership allows JD Super to source premium blueberries straight from Peru’s northern orchards, cutting costs and delivering fresher fruit to Chinese consumers.
JD Super plans to buy over 1,000 tons of blueberries this season, aiming to capture 10% of the 72,000 tons destined for China, a significant increase from last year.
The first batch includes the premium Madeira variety, graded for size and quality to ensure top taste and consistency.
Quality control is strict, with Camposol experts monitoring fruit at origin and JD Super conducting ongoing checks.
The blueberries are shipped via a sanitised cold chain from Peru to China, with JD Logistics providing refrigerated delivery to over 300 cities, ensuring freshness.
Since entering the imported blueberry market in 2018, JD Super’s direct sourcing model has made Peruvian blueberries more affordable and popular in China.
Peru’s blueberry production has grown rapidly, expanding from 80 hectares in 2012 to over 20,500 hectares today.
