Mannings, DFI Retail Group wins at FMCG Asia Awards 2025 for digital, ESG, and wellness programmes

The company continues to elevate customer engagement and public health across its retail network.

Mannings, part of DFI Retail Group, received three major honours at the FMCG Asia Awards 2025, winning in the categories of Digitalization Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong, ESG Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong, and Health & Wellness Initiative of the Year - Hong Kong.

The awards highlight the company’s consistent focus on technological development, sustainable operations, and preventive health services that strengthen community well-being in Hong Kong.

Transforming retail through digital innovation

Mannings, DFI Retail Group restructured its International Finance Centre flagship store to enhance customer experience through digital systems and interactive services.

As Hong Kong’s first, the store introduced the AI-enabled Mannings Health Pod, allowing customers to measure over 20 health and wellness metrics (including blood pressure, blood oxygen level, body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, body water, skin condition, and tooth shades) in five minutes. The service includes a consultation with a qualified wellness coach to interpret results and provide individual recommendations.

More than 3,000 customers have participated since launch, with an overall satisfaction score of 6.8 out of 7 and a Net Promoter Score of 70. The initiative’s data insights continue to guide service improvements and community health engagement.

Other features include Mannings’ Picks, an interactive product display using NFC technology, and self-service health hubs for colds, flu, pain relief, and gum health, created in partnership with Colgate and Haleon. Customer exit interviews recorded a 99% satisfaction rate, with 90% of respondents saying they would recommend the store to others.

Advancing sustainability and responsible healthcare

The company launched its Safe Disposal of Unused Medicines programme as the first community pharmacy chain in Hong Kong to provide a secure medicine disposal service.

The initiative addresses the environmental and health risks caused by incorrect drug disposal. Collection boxes are placed across nearly 60 Mannings pharmacies twice a year, with over 11.75 million pills collected between 2023 and 2025.

The programme collaborates with Environmental Protection Department-licensed contractors for chemical waste processing and features a pharmacist-led counselling service to educate customers on proper medication management.
