Philippine-based Century Pacific expands ‘unMEAT’ portfolio with fish-free tuna

This is in addition to “unMEAT” luncheon meat and “unCHEESE.”

Philippine-based Century Pacific Food, Inc. (CNPF) expanded its “unMEAT” portfolio with the addition of a plant-based fish-free tuna. 

This is in addition to its unMEAT luncheon meat and unCHEESE, which is a plant-based dairy alternative. 

“UnMEAT Fish-free Tuna is a gamechanger. Much of the focus in the industry has been on meat alternatives,” CNPF COO Greg Banzon said.

“On the other hand, seafood alternatives remain a wide-open space where we see pent-up demand from consumers looking for healthier and more sustainable options at an accessible price.”

The new unMEAT Fish-free Tuna, CNPF said, has a taste, texture, and appearance like tuna. It is 100% plant-based, using ingredients, such as non-GMO soy, natural oils, and flavours.

CNPF reported that within two months since launching unMEAT Fish-free Tuna, it gained distribution in over 500 retail outlets across the United States, Singapore, and the UAE. 

Citing a survey by a third-party market research firm, unMEAT Fish-free Tuna overtakes other plant-based tuna brands in the Philippines.

“UnMEAT has been actively participating in international expos and roadshows. This new product has been drumming up much excitement with retailers all over the world who have tried our samples,” Banzon said.

“We’re currently working on increasing its retail footprint in key markets abroad.”
