Hermès expands China footprint with new Wuxi store
The 34th store in China presents a unique architecture referencing the landscape of the region.
Hermès China has continued its expansion in the market with the opening of its 34th store in the city of Wuxi.
Located in Center 66, at the heart of Liangxi District, the new Hermès store features a variety of the house’s sixteen métiers and presents the brand’s prominence in the region.
Over its two levels are unique style motifs representing the Jiangsu province. The façade bears a resemblance to traditional Ming temple roofs. The vertical wooden tiles show a dark blue hue and a curved shape to represent the Yangtze River. The wooden panels bring a distinct separation from the outside world.

Within level one is a wide collection of women’s silk, fashion jewellery and men’s silk, as well as fragrances. Each section has a specially designed aesthetic to make them distinct from each other. The entire floor is complemented by the jewellery and watches areas, as well as a private lounge.
Each floor is comprised of granite grey stone with two mosaic carpets with the Faubourg pattern, referencing the architecture of the Chenghuang temple.
For its subsequent store openings, Hermès aims to widen its execution of styles, both on its products and the architecture of its stores.
