Walmart partners with Meituan to boost e-commerce in China

Meituan will provide delivery services for Walmart products.

Walmart has partnered with Chinese delivery and services platform Meituan to boost its e-commerce growth in China, Reuters reported.

Under the agreement, Meituan will provide delivery services for Walmart’s goods, and Walmart will be featured on Meituan's popular app.

The partnership comes after Walmart sold its $3.7b stake in JD.com in August, shifting away from JD's logistics services.

Meituan, known for food delivery, also offers a variety of services, including goods delivery, bike-sharing, and ticket booking.

The report also noted that Walmart recently reported a 17% increase in quarterly net sales in China, reaching $4.9b across its stores, including Walmart and Sam's Club locations.
