Uniqlo sues SHEIN over alleged shoulder bag imitation
It demands SHEIN to stop selling the product and compensation for damages.
Uniqlo has filed a lawsuit against the operators of retail brand SHEIN, Roadget Business Pte. Ltd., Fashion Choice, Pte. Lts., and SHEIN Japan Co., for allegedly selling an imitation of the company’s round mini shoulder bag.
In a statement, Uniqlo said it filed the case against SHEIN operators last 28 December at the Tokyo District Court for violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, demanding them to stop the sale of the imitation product and compensation for damages.

The company said it filed the complaint because the bag sold by SHEIN closely resembles their product, adding that the sale of the allegedly copied products “significantly undermines the level of customer confidence” in Uniqlo’s brand and products.
In a statement, a SHEIN spokesperson said it is investigating the issue at hand.
"SHEIN respects the intellectual property rights of others and takes all claims of infringement seriously," the spokesperson said.
