JD Worldwide sales soar after 618 Grand Promotion
The company saw transaction value grow by more than 20 times for its duty-free business.
JD.com’s cross-border e-commerce marketplace JD Worldwide saw its sales soar after officially launching its JD618 Grand Promotion.
The company reported its duty-free business transaction value grew 20 times year-on-year; whilst its cross-border surrogate shopping increased seven times YoY in the first 24 hours of the mid-year shopping festival.
In particular, the sale of cross-border food, beverage, and fresh products went up by 160% YoY, in which imported alcohol beverages rose nine times YoY.
Moreover, the sale of imported small kitchen appliances surged 128% YoY, which JD linked to the gradually changing lifestyle of consumers during the pandemic.
Transaction value of imported electronic education devices increased by 17 times YoY as more students rely on online learning. Amongst other children products that went up include sales of imported baby vitamins and game equipment.
“Demand for imported goods is on the rise, as more and more customers turn to consumption upgrade,” JD Worldwide said.
