Deliveroo to shut down Hong Kong operations

It will remain live until 7 April.

Deliveroo will end its Hong Kong operations on 7 April, citing challenges specific to the city’s food delivery market.

The company announced that after nine years in Hong Kong, it had made the "difficult decision" to exit, despite its efforts to provide value to customers, restaurant partners, and riders.

"There are several factors specific to the food delivery market in Hong Kong which led us to consider Deliveroo's future," it said in a statement. "As a result, we have unfortunately decided that the best option is to end our operations in Hong Kong."

The platform will stop accepting orders on its final day of operations.
