Megaworld Lifestyle Malls wins four awards at Retail Asia Awards 2026
The mall group was recognised for destinations that blend heritage, lifestyle, themed experiences, and integrated urban growth.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls won four major distinctions at the Retail Asia Awards 2026, led by Mall of the Year - Philippines for Lucky Chinatown. The recognition marks the company’s fourth consecutive win in the Mall of the Year category, following previous wins by Festive Walk Iloilo in 2023, Eastwood City in 2024, and Uptown Bonifacio in 2025.
The company also won Lifestyle Mall of the Year - Philippines for Uptown Bonifacio, Themed Mall of the Year - Philippines for Venice Grand Canal, and Mixed-Use Mall of the Year - Philippines for Festive Walk Iloilo.
Together, the four awards highlight Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ strength in creating retail destinations shaped by culture, customer experience, strategic placemaking, and integrated community growth.
Transforming heritage retail
Lucky Chinatown was named Mall of the Year - Philippines for its transformation into a modern heritage retail destination in Binondo, the world’s oldest Chinatown.
The mall’s redevelopment was anchored by the Lucky Chinatown Imperial Wing, a revitalised three-level retail expansion spanning nearly 10,000 square metres of gross leasable area. Reimagined from a former annex, the wing introduced new retail, dining, grocery, lifestyle, and entertainment concepts that elevated the mall’s tenant mix and customer experience.
The transformation extends across the mall through refreshed interiors, upgraded retail spaces, immersive Filipino-Chinese cultural experiences, and the Philippines’ first suspended LED cylinder, a 16-foot, 360-degree digital installation that turns the central atrium into a visual landmark.
Together with the Chinatown Museum and year-round cultural programming, Lucky Chinatown demonstrates how heritage retail can evolve whilst preserving its cultural identity.
Shaping lifestyle standards
Uptown Bonifacio won Lifestyle Mall of the Year - Philippines for advancing contemporary metropolitan retail in Metro Manila.
Located in Taguig City, the mall brings together premium retail, chef-driven dining, nightlife, wellness, entertainment, residences, and offices within one walkable urban environment.
As one of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ flagship destinations, Uptown Bonifacio has become a gateway for global and premium brands, led by the country’s first and only Tesla Experience Center, alongside international and lifestyle names across fashion, beauty, wellness, dining, and entertainment.
Beyond retail, Uptown Bonifacio continues to elevate city living through premium cinemas, curated nightlife, wellness offerings, pet-friendly spaces, EV charging stations, bike facilities, and signature attractions such as its 3D LED elevator feature and fire-and-water fountain.
Activating immersive themes
Venice Grand Canal claimed Themed Mall of the Year - Philippines for its immersive European-inspired environment within McKinley Hill.
Built around a central man-made canal, the mall brings its Venetian theme to life through gondola rides, picturesque bridges, open piazzas, canal-side dining, and European-inspired architecture.
The experience is enriched by daily attractions such as serenading gondoliers, Venetian mimes, costume rentals, traditional mask experiences, pigeon feeding at Venice Piazza, and the love-lock installation at Ponte Amore.
Seasonal programmes, dining concepts, and cultural activations further refresh the mall experience whilst staying true to its romantic destination identity.
Driving regional mixed-use growth
Festive Walk Iloilo secured Mixed-Use Mall of the Year - Philippines for its role as the lifestyle and commercial core of Iloilo Business Park.
Located within Megaworld’s 72-hectare integrated township in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, the mall connects residences, offices, hotels, transport hubs, cultural landmarks, and lifestyle spaces within one walkable environment.
As the township’s retail anchor, Festive Walk Iloilo brings together global brands, Filipino retailers, regional entrepreneurs, dining concepts, and everyday lifestyle services. The experience extends to Festive Walk Parade, an open-air dining and nightlife strip that keeps the district active from day to night.
The mall is also part of a growing cultural corridor that includes the Science Museum, Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art, the Brandy Museum, and the Iloilo Convention Center, strengthening its role as a regional hub for commerce, culture, tourism, and community life.
The four wins at the Retail Asia Awards 2026 underscore Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ role in shaping the next generation of Philippine retail. Across heritage districts, metropolitan lifestyle centres, themed destinations, and townships, the company continues to create malls where commerce, culture, customer experience, and community connection come together.
