Hanoi Centre by Keppel Vietnam takes Mall of the Year - Vietnam at Retail Asia Awards 2026
It combined heritage preservation, flagship brands, and community spaces to reshape Hanoi’s retail landscape.
Hanoi Centre by Keppel Vietnam won the Mall of the Year - Vietnam category at the Retail Asia Awards 2026 for developing a five-level retail complex that combines shopping, entertainment, dining, heritage features, and public spaces in central Hanoi. Located at 175 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street within the Tien Bo Plaza complex, the Grade A mall spans 72,000 sqm of gross floor area and 42,000 sqm of net leasable area across three above-ground floors and two basement retail levels.
The mall opened in December 2025 with more than 90% pre-committed occupancy and capacity for up to 200 retail units. Its tenant mix includes the first adidas Brand Center in Northern Vietnam, the first ZARA Concept Store, POP MART’s first flagship store in Hanoi, and BOSS’s flagship and largest store in Vietnam. Other tenants include well-known brands such asChanel Beauty, Coach, UNIQLO, MUJI, etc., and TimeZone, whilst Galaxy CineX serves as an entertainment anchor.
Within its first months of operation, the development welcomed more than 140,000 visitors. Average daily footfall exceeded 20,000 visitors, whilst peak days reached nearly 40,000 visitors. Total mall revenue increased 10 times from December 2025 to February 2026, reflecting early retail activity across its stores.
Heritage was incorporated into the project through the preservation of site elements linked to Hanoi’s history. The location was previously home to a mint serving Indochina, the former Nha Tien Prison, and the Tien Bo Printing House. A century-old banyan tree was retained as a central landmark, whilst the project is thoughtfully landscaped with a design that harmoniously blends traditional and modern elements, creating a distinctive and cohesive overall experience.
The retail destination also includes modern wayfinding systems, smart lockers, and charging stations, and more. Its key community spaces include Central Square, an expansive outdoor area connecting multiple building blocks through open, architecturally distinctive spaces, and Millennial Square, a multi-level venue designed for community activities, interactive experiences, and mall events.
