7-Eleven Singapore wins Convenience Store of the Year - Singapore and Retail App of the Year - Singapore

The retailer enhanced its stores, expanded its product range and launched an integrated omnichannel app.

7-Eleven Singapore received accolades in the Convenience Store of the Year - Singapore and Retail App of the Year - Singapore categories at the Retail Asia Awards 2026, transforming from a last-mile pit stop to a place of discovery. This evolution is driven by store enhancements, an expanded range, including ready-to-eat food concepts and collectibles, digital services, and loyalty-driven customer engagement.

A place of discovery: Expanding food and lifestyle retail

7-Eleven is redefining convenience to be an exciting and accessible everyday spot for customers to discover delicious ready-to-eat (RTE) food, new beverages, snacks, and exclusive collectibles. Over the past 24 months, the retailer has introduced more than 1,500 new and exclusive SKUs.

The SG60 Dabao Flavours of Singapore 2.0 campaign delivered stellar performance and was developed in collaboration with Andes by Astons, Milo, and Old Chang Kee. The campaign reimagined local dishes such as chilli crab, nasi lemak, and satay into ready-to-eat formats, bringing familiar Singapore flavours into convenient on-the-go meals.

7-Eleven also creates unique moments of discovery and experiences through offerings such as GoPizza, Thailand-inspired Toasties, and freshly blended smoothies inspired by Japan’s konbini culture, alongside its DIY Drinks Bar for a personalised “mix and match” beverage experience. The Snack Stop Pick & Mix concept has also gained strong popularity, featuring a tiered pricing model across nearly 40 mini-sized snacks, including gummies, nuts, biscuits, and chocolates.

Collectible launches have further driven store traffic, with campaigns featuring popular IPs such as Shin Chan, Sanrio, Miffy, One Piece, Care Bears, and Fugglers rolled out across its network.

Improving store experience: Store enhancements and operations

7-Eleven continued to enhance its store network through targeted refits and operational upgrades to elevate both customer experience and efficiency. Stores were enhanced to deliver improved performance, supported by new dedicated dining spaces, new food concepts, and hot food zones, creating a more comfortable environment for in-store dining and on-the-go consumption. These enhancements also improve customer navigation, product visibility, fixtures, merchandising, and point-of-sale materials, resulting in a smoother overall shopping flow and ease of product discovery.

These physical upgrades were complemented by operational innovations. Dual self-checkout systems were introduced in more than 300 stores, allowing team members to switch between cashier-assisted and self-checkout modes during peak periods. At Singapore General Hospital, 7-Eleven Singapore opened a fully unmanned store featuring automated product detection and frictionless checkout technology, marking a step forward in autonomous retail experiences.

Building an omnichannel retail platform

The launch of the 7-Eleven Singapore App in February 2025 marked a key step in building a fully integrated omnichannel ecosystem, connecting more than 460 stores through a single digital platform. Within 10 months, the app surpassed 300,000 downloads and supported a strong digital sale, reflecting strong consumer adoption of its digital offerings.

A suite of app features further strengthened customer engagement, including EasyCollect, a 15-minute click-and-collect service available across the store network, ValuePacks, which offer prepaid bundled purchases, and SaverStamps, which digitises customer loyalty and encourages repeat purchases.

The app launch was supported by local artistes and personalities JianHao Tan, Glenn Yong, and Annette Lee, generating more than 3.1 million views in its first week. Within two months, the app ranked first in the Shopping category on both Apple App Store and Google Play.
