7-Eleven Malaysia names Wong Wai Keong and Tan U-Ming as co-CEO

Outgoing CEO Colin George Harvey is resigning due to health reasons.

7-Eleven Malaysia has appointed Wong Wai Keong and Tan U-Ming as executive director cum co-CEO of the company starting 1 December, following Colin George Harvey's resignation from the position due to health reasons, bourse filings revealed.

Wong was appointed as CFO of the company on March 2018. He had over 23 years of working experience in multinational corporations and local environment across the region overseeing finance, accounting, information technology/enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business management.

He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA), the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA).

Meanwhile, Tan attended college in Irvine Valley College in the USA. In 2008, he was appointed as a director of 7-Eleven Malaysia, where he was responsible for overseeing its Merchandising, Supply Chain, Procurement and Marketing functions.

He was promoted to the position of Executive Director in 2011. Mr. Tan was appointed to the Board of 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings in 2013. He currently holds multiple directorships in other private companies of various industries.
