The Warehouse Group runs 26 stores with solar power

It aims to be 100% solar-powered by end-2026.

The Warehouse Group has switched its 26 stores and sites in Northland, Auckland, and Waikato to solar power generated from Lodestone Energy’s new Kaitaia solar farm.

In a statement, the company said this is its first step towards its goal to operate fully using solar power by the end of 2026.

“Going solar has been an important ambition for us to achieve across our store network and a great example of The Tomorrow Test in action – taking bold steps and making both big and small improvements for a more sustainable future,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.

The Warehouse Group signed a long-term deal with Lodestone Energy in 2023 to purchase electricity for the operations of its over 260 sites occupied by The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo 7 stores, as well distribution centres and store support offices.
