Korea’s CJ Olive Young expands to US
The move is part of its global expansion strategy.
K-beauty retailer CJ Olive Young has entered the U.S. market, establishing its local subsidiary, CJ Olive Young USA, in Los Angeles.
The move is part of its global expansion strategy, targeting the U.S. as a key market for K-beauty growth.
The U.S. beauty industry, valued at $120b in 2023, presents a major opportunity for CJ Olive Young. K-beauty exports to the U.S. have grown over 20% annually since 2020, driven by demand from younger, trend-focused consumers.
To strengthen its presence, CJ Olive Young will localise product sourcing, marketing, and logistics while expanding its global e-commerce platform. It also plans to open its first U.S. store, enhancing its omnichannel strategy.
The company will optimize its online shopping experience for U.S. customers by refining its website, payment options, and product displays. It is also analyzing consumer data to tailor its product selection.
CJ Olive Young is scouting locations for its first physical store and will integrate logistics with its South Korean headquarters. Future plans include partnering with CJ Logistics America to establish a local fulfillment network for faster shipping.
