Olive Young Seongsu stores see 592% surge in foreign spend
International card transactions climbed 79% and outpaced the 4% increase amongst domestic users.
Olive Young’s stores in Seongsu-dong district in Seoul have recorded a 592% increase in international card transactions.
The growth recorded exceeded domestic transaction growth (81%), between November 2024 to October 2025, the retailer said.
International card transactions surged 79% and outpaced the 4% increase amongst domestic users, it added.
Global customer sales at the six Olive Young stores in the district climbed from an average of 40% to 70% as of October 2025.
Credit card transaction data from the period showed that card payments in Seongsu rose by 5.81 million, with total payment value up by KRW490b ($432m) year-on-year, the retailer’s data showed.
Its flagship store Olive Young N Seongsu led the growth.
The outlet offers 150 brands and beauty care services such as skin and scalp analysis, men’s brow bar, quick touch-up and full make-up services, and home-care lessons.
More than 30,000 customers have used the beauty-care services at the store to date, Olive Young said, with global visitors accounting for over half (54%) of users. Global customers represented 87% of all skin-diagnosis consultations, it added.
