Unity Pharmacy recognised at FMCG Asia Awards 2025 for digital and wellness excellence

The company stood out for combining innovation and accessibility to make everyday healthcare easier, smarter, and more human across Singapore.

Unity Pharmacy received two major accolades at the FMCG Asia Awards 2025: Digitalisation Initiative of the Year - Singapore and Health & Wellness Initiative of the Year - Singapore. Both awards highlight the company’s commitment to keeping daily essentials within reach through technology-driven healthcare access and preventive wellness programmes designed to make every day a little better for Singaporeans.

Digital innovation reshapes community pharmacy access

Unity Pharmacy was honoured with the Digitalisation Initiative of the Year - Singapore for introducing Singapore’s first Pharmacy Vending Machines.

The machines form part of Unity’s wider digitalisation journey to make essential medicines and pharmacist guidance more accessible to the community. Installed at five FairPrice outlets in residential neighbourhoods, they complement in-store pharmacy services by ensuring round-the-clock access. During pharmacy operating hours, customers can consult pharmacists directly for pharmacy-only medication. After hours, the vending machines remain accessible for over-the-counter (OTC) products, ensuring that essential healthcare items are always within reach.

Each machine features automated stock monitoring and restocking systems, saving customers an estimated 65 to 130 hours of waiting time collectively.  This time would otherwise be spent queuing at clinics or hospitals for minor ailments. The initiative not only improves operational efficiency but also enhances convenience for caregivers, working adults, and families in residential areas with limited pharmacy coverage.

Preventive care takes centre stage in everyday wellness

Unity Pharmacy also won the Health & Wellness Initiative of the Year - Singapore for embedding preventive health services within everyday retail spaces.

Its Active Living Zones, available in selected outlets, are equipped with Tanita Body Composition Analysers that measure indicators such as muscle mass, visceral fat, and metabolic age. These self-service tools encourage customers to monitor their health regularly and make informed adjustments to their routines.

The company also introduced its Oral Care Centre at Unity VivoCity, one of Singapore’s most comprehensive assortments of oral care products, and collaborated with the Ministry of Health on the Pharmacist-led Influenza Vaccination Programme to extend immunisation services to the community.

Together, these initiatives reflect Unity’s belief that preventive health should be easy on the wallet and easy on the experience, supporting healthier living for everyone.
