Google partners with Gentle Monster to launch AI smart glasses

It is the tech giant’s first collaboration for its Android XR platform.

Google has teamed up with South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster to develop AI-powered smart glasses.

The collaboration marks the first partnership for Android XR, Google’s extended reality platform.

Unveiled at Google I/O 2025, the partnership aims to integrate cutting-edge AI and extended reality (XR) technology into fashion-forward eyewear.

Known for its bold and minimalist eyewear, Gentle Monster is expected to bring its signature design sensibilities to the upcoming smart glasses.

The partnership will focus on creating eyewear that prioritises both comfort and style, making XR technology more accessible and wearable in day-to-day settings.
