The two countries discussed the potential collaboration to promote the apparel industry of Bangladesh on the global stage.

China and Bangladesh have joined forces to strengthen Bangladesh's ready-made garment (RMG) industry, the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported.

A delegation from China's Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led by Vice President and Secretary General Zhang Tao, discussed potential partnerships with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Faruque Hassan in a meeting.

Discussions centred on joint initiatives to elevate Bangladesh's apparel industry internationally, including organising global exhibitions to showcase its RMG capabilities.

The dialogue emphasised Bangladesh's expertise in manufacturing high-value fashion items, with China's textile technology potentially playing a pivotal role.

As Bangladesh's RMG industry diversifies towards premium garments, especially those incorporating man-made fibres, such collaborations are poised to catalyse growth and innovation within the sector.

Additionally, talks explored CCPIT's role in facilitating investments in Bangladesh's non-cotton textile sector which is crucial for the industry's diversification into premium garment production.

Hassan also highlighted Bangladesh's advancements in safety, modernization, and sustainability, expressing optimism about the partnership's potential to showcase the country's capabilities globally.
