Unilever International lauded at FMCG Asia Awards 2023

Unilever International, Unilever’s global business unit and whitespace partner was awarded the Supply Chain Initiative of the Year at the coveted FMCG Asia Awards 2023 for establishing Pt. Alliance Consumer Products – an innovation-driven, agile and cost-effective manufacturing unit for skin cleansing bars in Sei Mangkei, Indonesia.

Supply Chain is the backbone of this global business, delivering superior products, superior service and superior value to customers across the world. Our strategy is focused on achieving scale through digitalization and automation, increasing efficiency, and improving customer satisfaction.

Launched pre-Covid, the facility aims to produce sustainable soap bars for exports to more than 60 countries: involving large scale cross border logistics. Achieving 100% safety record and on-time delivery, the site leverages locally produced oils and complies to sourcing policies which has also boosted employment and vendor development.

The success of the project is the result of collaboration between Unilever Personal Care, Supply Chain and Unilever International. Despite several challenges, the site has scripted success ensuring superior quality products reach consumers worldwide.  With Alliance, Unilever International is committed to achieving great quality, customer service, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
