Nearly three-quarters of APAC retailers struggling from omnichannel squeeze

One of the challenges they face is reducing shrinkage.

The majority of retailers in Asia Pacific claimed that they are experiencing the omnichannel squeeze, with 74% citing challenges in minimising shrink or the reduction of inventory over theft, fraud and other factors.

A Zebra Technologies report found that the figure is lower than the 82% of retailers globally finding difficulty in reducing fraud/shrink.

In 2022, retailers lost $112b due to shrink, higher than the nearly $94b in 2021, according to data from the National Retail Federation.
