Amazon raises western Australia footprint by 60%

The company will be opening a new fulfilment centre to meet growing customer demand. 

Amazon Australia has completed the construction of a new fulfilment centre in western Australia, increasing its operational footprint by 60%. 

The new fulfilment centre is located in the Jandakot Airport Commercial Precinct. It is more than double the size of its existing site near Perth Airport.

“We are investing significantly in our Perth operations as part of our ongoing commitment to improving selection and delivery outcomes for customers throughout the state,” Director of Operations at Amazon Australia, Mindy Espidio-Garcia, said. 

The fulfilment centre spans 20,00 square metres and has the capacity to house more than 3 million items sold on Amazon.com.au. 

The new site also increases Amazon’s storage capacity available to sellers by 500%.
