South Korea’s GS25 donates inventory of closed stores

The inventory was sent to a rehabilitation facility for PWDs.

South Korean convenience store chain GS25 has decided to donate the leftover inventory of its closed stores to Good Will Store, a vocational rehabilitation facility for persons with disabilities (PWDs) run by the Miral Welfare Foundation, Korea Bizwire reported.

GS25 said that it decided to donate the inventory to have them used more effectively, as well as to address problems arising during the process of disposal, including the cost of product recovery, storage and processing.

When GS25 outlets terminate operations, Good Will Store will collect the leftover inventory and sell it through its outlets across the country.

The proceeds from the sales will be used to cover the salaries of its 280 employees with disabilities who work at 14 of its outlets across the country.
