Great Singapore Sale goes online on 9 September

It will offer various deals across retail, F&B, attractions and hotels.

The Great Singapore Sale is returning by popular demand from 9 September to 10 October in the form of online retail with virtual activities, the organizer Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) announced.

Themed “eGSS: Shop. Win. Experience”, this will be a unified marketing initiative made to help accelerate retailers in venturing to eCommerce, drive local consumption and offer shoppers a “diverse and holistic” experience online and offline.

The sale includes deals made to drive spending throughout 32 days with offers across retail, food & beverage (F&B), attractions & hotels. These deals, available in limited quantities on eGSS GoSpree, will be different every day of the week. An interactive game on GoSpree also offers prizes worth over $150,000

It also offers Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) experience to view retailers’ products and connect with brands. Shoppers can also take part in virtual workshops and join in virtual events.

“[GSS] is the only one unified marketing team or sales event which all our retailers islandwide actually leverage on for them to also amplify. So the idea of not having it, I think they felt like something was missing. So when we decided that we should then take it online, we needed to look at how it could be different,” SRA executive director Rose Tong said.

It is also a part of the Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) SingapoRediscovers campaign, which encourages locals to “discover a different side of Singapore,” as well as value-for-money experiences and promotions, the Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing announced.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Association of Singapore Attractions (ASA), Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) and Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFF).
