The musician will assume the post immediately.
Louis Vuitton has appointed musician Pharrell Williams as its Men’s Creative Director, effective immediately.
Williams’ first collection for the luxury brand in June during the Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.
“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director. His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter,” Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO said.

GlobalData Apparel Analyst Louise Deglise-Favre perceived this as Louis Vuitton’s effort to bet on Williams’ star power and mass appeal.
“Whilst Williams might seem as an odd choice at first glance, the star has a long-standing history with the fashion world, launching the pioneering streetwear brand Billionaire Boys Club in the early noughties and collaborating with luxury fashion brands such as Chanel, Moncler and even Louis Vuitton itself throughout the years,” Deglise-Favre said.
“Choosing Pharrell Williams also indicates that Louis Vuitton is doubling down on the streetwear influences that Virgil Abloh brought to the brand, which allowed it to be so successful in recent years and resonate with luxury’s new crucial audience of Gen-Z shoppers.”
