JD logistics arm to use large-scale hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks

The deployment of the new fleet of trucks will reduce emissions by 1,000 tonnes.

JD Logistics plans to launch a large-scale implementation of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, a first-ever accomplishment in China’s logistics sector.

Introducing the new fleet aims to reduce annual carbon emissions by nearly 1,000 tonnes, aligning with the company’s long-standing commitment to clean energy and environmental preservation.

The fleet is comprised of 9.6-metre logistics trucks with an 18-tonne capacity. The hydrogen-powered vehicles can be run in temperatures from -30 degrees Celcius to 45 degrees Celcius and travel over 400 kilometres within a single ten-minute refuelling session.

Compared to traditional gasoline and electric vehicles, these hydrogen-powered trucks offer a smart alternative that improves logistics operations with swift benefits like environmental adaptability, cost-effective use, and service longevity.
