Ferrero Asia clinches FMCG Asia Awards 2024 for premium dark chocolate assortment

Its three different refined dark chocolates are made with different percentages of cocoa from different regions for a more sophisticated taste experience.

Sweet-packaged food company Ferrero Asia took home the Consumer Good of the Year (Chocolate) - Hong Kong category win at the highly sought-after FMCG Asia Awards 2024 for the successful launch of its premium dark chocolate line Ferrero Rocher Origins that builds upon the iconic Ferrero Rocher brand, known for its quality ingredients and elegant presentation.  

Launched in Hong Kong in November 2023, Ferrero Rocher Origins offers three new specialties, each characterised by their own aroma and intensity.

Amongst these specialties is Ghana, a fruity and velvety chocolate containing 50% cocoa solids in the dark chocolate shell and combining delicious hazelnuts with the dark chocolate shell made from selected cocoa beans from the country of its namesake. It offers a fruity cocoa flavour and velvety finish.

It also includes Ecuador, an elegant and harmonious chocolate featuring hazelnuts wrapped in a dark chocolate shell made from selected cocoa beans from Ecuador. This specialty contains 65% cocoa solids in the dark chocolate shell, providing a strong cocoa flavour enriched by elegant roasting notes.

Lastly, the product line features Ivory Coast — an intense and aromatic product with hazelnuts in a dark chocolate shell made from selected cocoa beans from the Ivory Coast. Containing 80% cocoa solids in the dark chocolate shell, it delivers a bold and distinctive flavour for dark chocolate lovers.

All these products focus on single-origin cocoa, which means that the cocoa beans used in each variant come from a specific region, allowing for a more authentic and unique flavour profile. This approach enhances the taste and supports sustainable farming practices.

At the same time, Ferrero Rocher Origins continues Ferrero's iconic tradition of multi-sensorial texture and taste experience. The texture, aroma, and taste are meticulously balanced to create a memorable chocolate experience.

Within eight weeks of launch, the product has captured 2.4%* of market value share within such a competitive and maturely developed market as Hong Kong. It has also gained a 1.4%* volume share in the same metric.
