Rakuten introduces AI-powered listing support on Rakuma app

It automatically analyses images uploaded by sellers.

Rakuten Group, Inc. has launched an AI-powered product listing support feature for Rakuten Rakuma, its community-based marketplace app.

The new tool automatically analyses images uploaded by sellers and recommends suitable categories, product names, and descriptions.

It draws on tens of millions of product data points across the Rakuten Group to help users create accurate listings quickly.

The system also uses data from Komehyo, a Rakuma Saikyo Kantei authentication partner that handles 2.4 million second-hand brand products annually. This addition supports recommendations for over 100 luxury brands.

By automating key listing steps, the feature reduces the time and effort required from users.

It was developed in response to feedback highlighting the difficulty of manually entering detailed product information on second-hand apps.
