AS Watson names Malina Ngai as Group CEO
She will now lead in defining the company's vision and formulating strategies to prioritise customer satisfaction and global growth.
AS Watson has announced the appointment of Malina Ngai as its Group CEO, effective from 1 May.
Ngai, who currently serves as the Group Chief Operating Officer and CEO of AS Watson (Asia & Europe), will succeed Dominic Lai.
In her new role, Ngai will lead the company in defining its vision and formulating strategies to prioritize customer satisfaction and global growth. All senior leaders who currently report to Lai will now report to Ngai, whilst Lai will transition to the position of Chairman of AS Watson.
Ngai brings over two decades of experience within CK Hutchison and AS Watson, with a diverse career spanning corporate communications, international management, technology development, sales operations, marketing, big data, and sustainability.

Ngai's journey within CK Hutchison began in 2000, where she held various leadership positions before joining AS Watson in 2001. Over the years, she has steadily risen through the ranks, culminating in her appointment as Group Chief Operating Officer in 2013 and CEO of AS Watson (Asia & Europe) in 2019.
Before her tenure at CK Hutchison, Ngai gained experience in sports marketing consultancy and worked with the Hong Kong SAR Government's statutory body for sports development. She also holds a doctoral degree and a master’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in finance, and a bachelor’s degree in sports administration.
