Philippines’ Figaro Coffee to offer keto-friendly pastries

Figaro will be introducing Keto Coconut Tiramisu and Sugar-free Keto Brownies.

Figaro Coffee will be offering two new keto-friendly desserts, Keto Coconut Tiramisu and Sugar-free Keto Brownies to give healthier options to consumers.

The new desserts followed the classic chocolate brownie and Tiramisu cake that it offered in its Metro Manila stores early this year.

“In creating these products, we ensured tat we strictly followed the three main tenets of a Keto diet: One, using ingredients that are high in healthy fats. Two, the ingredients must have an adequate amount of protein,” R&D Chef Loren Lazar said.

“Three, sweetness must be minimal and using natural sweeteners like monk fruit, stevia and erythritol to make desserts tasty and guilt-free.”

Figaro Coffee decided to introduce the keto-friendly options seeing that mainstream restaurants and chains have not widely offered the products.

“In line with our focus on providing high-quality products at value-for-money prices, we also want to ensure our selection of pastries have something for everyone, even people who want to minimise carbohydrates or those who are Diabetic,” Figaro Coffee Group (FCG)’s Chairman Justin Liu said.

Figaro Coffee forms part of the Figaro Coffee Group, which also owns Angel’s Pizza, Tien Ma’s Taiwanese cuisine, The Figaro Group Express, and Café Portofino.
