JD Fresh rolls out 70 sustainable seafood products

The products feature the ecolabel of international NGO Marine Stewardship Council.

JD Fresh has launched more than 70 sustainable seafood products in conjunction with the 26th Annual China Fisheries & Seafood Expo in Shandong province, the company announced in a news release.

Featuring the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) blue ecolabel, JD’s newly launched over 70 seafood products are a result of the partnership with the MSC, an international non-profit organization (NGO) established to address the problem of unsustainable fishing.

JD Fresh is looking to offer more seafood products from MSC-certified sustainable fisheries in the future, according to Yu Zhao, JD Fresh’s managing director of seafood and aquatic products.

MSC ecolabel seafood products will help JD Fresh build a sustainable supply chain, standardize the sales of sustainable seafood, and raise awareness of marine conservation and green consumption for customers at large, Zhao said.
